I AM STILL BECOMING

A young sapling held in hands symbolizes growth and sustainability.

On this first day of February 2026, I pause long enough to feel the truth rising inside me. I am still becoming.

Becoming more self-aware.

Becoming more honest with myself.

Becoming more willing to sit with my identity–my successes, my wounds, my lessons, my contradictions.

I am learning to exist in a world overflowing with perceptions and misconceptions, with bias and brilliance, with those who try to define me and those who simply see me. In the very same world where shadows of guilt and racism linger, there are lights–people whose hope, empathy, optimism, and love burn bright enough to guide not only themselves but everyone around them.

And it is those lights that remind me:

I am shaped not by the narratives meant to shrink me, but by the courage, resilience, and truth I carry within me.

I recently watched Becoming again – Michelle Obama’s story, her strength, her climb. And what struck me most wasn’t the spotlight, but the fight. The intentional choice she made to refuse everyone else’s attempt to brand her, define her, or decide her worth. Even with her brilliance, grace, and eloquence, there were still those eager to rewrite her reality–because her power didn’;t suit their version of who she should be.

I know that space, I’ve lived in it my entire career. I grew up in an era where women weren’t allowed to wear pants to work–where even fabric carried rules. And yet, through every season, every barrier, every whispered doubt, there were people whose belief in me burned brighter than my own fear. People who refused to let my flame flicker out. People who trusted me until I relearned how to trust myself.

I am not here to fix your resume, or chart your career path, or solve the tension in your workplace. But if you find yourself standing at a crossroads. If you feel the quiet ache of change pressing at your edges. If you are longing for someone to walk beside you as you discover who you are now, and who you are still becoming…

  • Then I am here.
  • Not as an expert.
  • Not as a fixer.
  • But as a fellow traveler–
  • a partner in awareness, a believer in your worth, and a witness to the extraordinary person you are still unfolding into.

We are all becoming. And none of us have to do it alone.
